William Earl Grissett

May 17, 1946 — January 27, 2022

William Earl “Dude” Grissett, lifelong resident of Pike County, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the age of 75.  A Graveside Service will be at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be there to visit a half hour before the service.

Dude has worked in the construction business for most of his life as the lead man at the construction company and then as maintenance man at Piknik and then Southern Classic Foods.  His first love was farming and raising cattle.  He worked the family farm with his late brother, Tommy.  Dude enjoyed trips to Montgomery to Wind Creek Casino to have a look around.  He was always smiling and enjoyed people, and you could find him cheering for Alabama each weekend.  He will be missed by his loving family and all of his friends.

Dude was preceded in death by his grandson, Dewight Banks; his parents, William & Francis Grissett; his brother, Tommy Grissette; and his sister, Kay Carlisle.

Loving survivors include his sons, Kendall Grissett (Betty), Kenny Grissett; grandchildren, Kendra Grissett, Carolann Banks; great grandchildren, Wrenley Rae Grissett, Brayden Dewight Brady; and his brother, James Grissett (Bessie).
