Jane Cummings

Jane Landry Schubert Cummings, a resident of Troy, Alabama, passed away on Nov. 10, 2019. She was born October 5, 1920 in Arkansas to Sadie Tucker Landry and Louis Patrick Landry, who later raised their daughter in Monroe, Louisiana.

Jane attended Louisiana State University and married Walter Franz Schubert, with whom she had three sons, Steve, Rick and Chris.

After her first marriage, Jane moved to Houston, Texas and married Malcolm David Cummings, Sr. Jane and Malcolm retired in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Kerrville, Texas.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Patrick Landry and Sadie Tucker Landry; her husbands Walter Franz Schubert and David Malcolm Cummings, Sr.; her sons Walter Stephen Schubert and Frederick Landry Schubert; her brother Frederick Louis Landry and his wife Veta; and her grandson Walter Stephen Schubert, Jr.

She is survived by her son Christopher Louis Schubert and his wife Donna; her grandchildren Charlotte Marie Schubert Willcox and her husband Charles, Christine Breard Schubert Duffy and husband Kevin, Malcolm Louis Schubert, Leigh Andrews Schubert Carter and husband Bill, Frederick Landry Schubert, Elizabeth Landry Schubert Malick and her husband Peter, and her namesake Jane Landry Bliss Birk and husband Matthias; great grandchildren Charles Claiborne Willcox, Jr., Charlotte Aurelia Willcox, Thomas Joseph Duffy, Anna Landry Duffy, Mary Margaret Duffy, James Cooper Duffy, Josie Jane Carter, Poppy Susan Carter, William Frederick Schubert, Kyle Stephen Srnka, Grace Agnes Mathews, Uma Mae Malick, Stephen Alexander Bliss, and Francisca Bliss Birk; great-granddaughter Leia Althea Landry Srnka; niece Elizabeth Landry Garcia and nephew Louis Gardner Landry.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy, Alabama at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 401 W. College Street, Troy, Alabama 36081.
