Doris Mitchell

Doris Allena Mitchell , age 82, formerly of Troy died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in Hope Hull, Alabama. Doris served in Army intelligence. She loved shopping and traveling. She sewed quilts and clothes until her health prevented it. She was an avid reader of the westerns of Louis L'aMour. Other than her family her greatest love was for her cat "Maybe".

A graveside service for Doris Mitchell will  be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Jim Powell officiating. A visitation will be held at Green Hills Funeral Home from 9:00 am until 9:45 am. Thursday, July 18, 2019.

Her survivors include, daughter and son-in-law, Susan Mitchell (Cleveland) Barron, son and son-in-law, Michael Foy (Mark King) Mitchell, her grandchildren, Zackery Cleve (Anna) Barron, Kaitlyn Allena Barron, her great-grandchildren, Piper Marie Barron and Allena Renee Barron, her sister, Laurie Slawson, she was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Foy Mitchell, sisters, Dorothy Fryman and Jean Lockley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Barron, Zack Barron, Mark King, Steve Barron, Michael Turner and Cleveland Barron.

The staff of Green Hills is honored to serve the Mitchell family.
