William Carroll Mobley

William Carroll “Bill” Mobley, 78, a longtime resident of Troy, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2023 of natural causes. A funeral service officiated by Dr. Mallone Chandler will be held at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Mobley was a native of Pike County and lived his entire life in Troy. A graduate of Charles Henderson High School, Mr. Mobley was a hard-working man. He spent several years working in the printing area of The Troy Messenger until that function was moved to another town. Mr. Mobley also worked for KW Plastics, as well as Lockheed Martin where he eventually retired from.
Mr. Mobley will be remembered for his generous spirit and no-nonsense approach to life. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Mr. Mobley is survived by an older sister, Catherine Tabor (Robert) of Abbeville and a younger sister, Margaret Dubbert of Troy, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney Carroll and Pauline Gulledge Mobley, as well as 3 older siblings Hazel Law, Jerry Mobley and Sara Riley.
