William Drinkard

January 24, 1925 — March 19, 2015

William M. (Billy) Drinkard, age 90, of Henderson, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Saturday, March 21, 2015, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Drinkard, Ray Kyzar, Jeff Knotts, Mike Knotts, Mark Knotts, and Greg Ricks.

Mr. Drinkard was a lifelong resident of Pike County where he devoted much of his working life to cattle farming and to the Pike County Farmer’s Co-op. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.L. and Ina Beard Drinkard; sister, Mary Claire Drinkard; and brothers, Charles and John Hugh Drinkard. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dollie Bradley Drinkard; son, Ron (Anne) Drinkard of Montgomery; brothers, Robert (Jimmie) Drinkard of Brundidge, Boyd (Pat) Drinkard of Palmyra, Alvin (Nell) Drinkard of Montgomery, Donnie (Pat) Drinkard of Troy; sisters, Betty Knotts of Troy and Ammanette (Raymond) Kyzar of Dothan; sister-in-law, Jinene Drinkard of Palmyra; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.

The Drinkard family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to his caretakers, Tricia Vaughn and Cheryl Bean. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to your favorite charity.
