Warren Leroy Johnston passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by service, dedication, and an enduring love for family and friends. Born on June 10, 1944, Warren’s life was one of deep commitment—both to those he loved and to the values that guided his every step.

Warren devoted over 20 years of his life to serving in the United States Air Force. Through perseverance and an unwavering sense of duty, he retired from military service but continued his work at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, forging lasting bonds and impacting countless colleagues along the way. His professional journey was a testament to his resilience and his desire to give back to his country and community.

Outside of his career, Warren embraced life’s simpler joys. He found peace and happiness in fishing, tending to his garden, caring for his yard, and enjoying long afternoons spent bowling. His home was always filled with laughter, and those who knew him best recall his remarkable sense of humor. Warren’s warmth and wit enlivened every gathering, his conversations punctuated by an unmistakable love for his family.

He held a special affection for animals and his own pets, whose companionship brought much happiness into his later years. Those who encountered Warren remember a man whose kindness extended not only to people but to his furry friends.

Warren is survived by his beloved wife, Uthai Johnston, and his treasured sisters, Mary Moore, Cheryl Black, and Kathryn Highfield; as well as many nieces and nephews. His dear dog, Spunky, also mourns his passing. He now reunites with his father, mother, four brothers, and two sisters who preceded him in death. 

A Memorial Service honoring Warren’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Green Hills Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his memory, reflect on his remarkable journey, and share the stories and moments that defined this extraordinary life.
