Rosa Nell  Long, passed away on August 19, 2012 at home.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00 am from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating.  Burial will follow in the Veterans Garden at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mrs. Long was born and raised in Barbour County.  She was married to her husband Dan in 1959 and they traveled to many states before retiring from the military.  They moved to Troy, AL in 1980.  She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.  Mrs. Long was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Glover.  She leaves behind her beloved husband Dan; A sweet mother, Mamie Lee Cook (Bobby); three wonderful children, sons, Daniel Long, Jr. (Sharon) of Millbrook, David Long (Kristin)of Birmingham; daughter, Daun Pittman (Greg)of Troy; a loving brother, Howard Glover (Faye); a sweet sister-in-law, Shirley Washington; five precious grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, HeartLee Pittman, PresLee Pittman, Lindy Long, Alyssa Long and Justin Long; and many other family and friends.  She also leaves behind a special caretaker, Dale Kline and three special friends, Judy Mechelhoff of Illinois, Margaret Casteel of Arkansas and Erbia Messer of North Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Allen Argenti, Trey Baggett, Danny Barron, Donnie Barron, Chris Chandler and Tom Dix.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Chandler, Norman Chandler, Randy Johnson and Wesley Scarbrough.
