Roland Randy Darby, was born on October 12, 1949.  After an extended hospital stay, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 25, 2023.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Ross Lankford officiating. The family requests everyone meet at the tent in the cemetery.
A native of Troy, Alabama, Randy was a member of First Baptist Church and the Baracca Sunday School Class.  In his younger years, Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with his father building houses.  He retired from his position as Relocation Specialist for the State of Alabama Highway Department after many years of service.  After retirement, he enjoyed traveling and birdwatching.  
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Layfayette Darby and Madge Davis Darby.  
Randy is survived by his wife, Debbie McLure Darby;  stepdaughters, Brooke Meeks Terry (Jason) and Lauren Meeks Prawius (Fred); step granddaughters, Abbi-Kay and Lexie Terry and Charlee Claire Prawius; mother-in-law, Juawana McLure; niece, Lindsay Jones Harvin; and special cousins, Debbie Hogan and Lynn Wise.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Southeast Health CCU nurses, doctors and therapists, DaySpring Hospice and his long-time caregivers, Mary Scott, Ramona McClure, and Dyann Collins.
