Roger Wilkins

Roger Randolph Wilkins, Age 74, of Troy, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Luverne Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Lowery and Greg Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Green Hills Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
Mr. Wilkins owned and operated Wilkins Modern Cleaners in Troy for 14 years. He retired after 30 years as a teacher in the Alabama Education System and was the Alabama DECA Teacher of the Year and Troy City Schools Teacher of the Year.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Peggy Wilkins; son, Greg Wilkins (Kathy); brother, Randall Wilkins; sister, Reba Jones; grandchild, Seth Wilkins; aunt, Inez Lambert and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dr. James Kimbrough, Larry VonFelt, Greg Wilkins, Max Barron, Randy Hutchinson and David Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Charlie Norris Sunday School class. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Baptist Church in Troy or the Charles Henderson High School Library.
