Retired Colonel Fain Jr.

Col. Earl Henry Fain, Jr. (U.S. Air Force retired) age eighty-eight, died July 17, 2017. Visitation will be at Green Hills Funeral Home on Thursday, July 20th, from 5 - 7 pm. Funeral service for Col. Fain will be held Friday, July 21st at 2:00 pm with visitation preceding at 1:00. pm at Louisville Baptist Church, Louisville, AL. Revs. Rick Hayes and Bill Hovey will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force. Burial to follow in the Louisville Cemetery.

Col. Fain was born in Clayton, Alabama on July 29, 1928 and was raised by his grandparents William And Lula Bell Fain.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Henry Fain, Sr. and Corrie Lee Harrison Fain. Col. Fain served 36 years of active military service, in the areas of electronic communications and information systems in the states of Alaska, Wyoming, Virginia, Texas, New York, and Alabama, and one overseas tour in Turkey.He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Betty Beaty Fain of Troy, daughter Cathy Lee Fain (Montgomery), daughter Carol Fain Phillips (Glenn), grand daughter Megan Phillips (Dothan), grandsons Tyler Phillips (Montgomery), Ryan Phillips (Leigh) (Midland City).Pallbearers will be Ellis Carr, Jr., Ronald Helms, Glenn Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Mike Hovey, & Air Force Honor Guard.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sims Sunday School Class at Hephzibah Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Hephzibah Baptist Church or Louisville Baptist Church.
