Naomi Renee Hatfield

February 1, 1967 — May 2, 2026

Troy

Naomi Renee Hatfield passed away at home on Saturday, May 2, 2026. She is survived by her children, Rayne Bigwood and Dalton Bigwood (Kayla), and her three grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, and LilyAnne. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, Edward Bigwood, and her mother, Joyce Shamblin.

Growing up in a Navy family, Naomi did not really have any state she called “home,” but the closest would have to be North Carolina, where she graduated from West Carteret High School in Morehead City in 1985, and from East Carolina University in Greenville in 1993.

After working in television and video for several years, she went back to school to become a mortician, graduating from Arapahoe Community College in Colorado in 2002. She called the birth of her child in 2003 “the greatest gift the world ever gave me and my greatest gift to the world” and nothing gave her so much joy. Naomi enjoyed crafting, sculpting, sewing, playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends and family, anime, and her small flock of chickens whom she would frequently talk about on Facebook where her sarcastic sense of humor could shine. Her friends were her family and she cherished them deeply. She loved dogs, adored music (although she lacked any talent for it), loved writing, movies, and reading was her passion. Her favorite movie/book was “Stealing Heaven” by Marion Meade and she leaves those she loved with the words “I understand.”

No services are scheduled at this time.  Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hatfield family.
