Micheal Price

October 6, 1951 — July 8, 2017

Micheal Wayne “Mickey” Price, age 65, of Jack, Alabama, turned the page Saturday, July 8, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Jeff Ryan sharing a eulogy. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Mickey Cox, Brian Harrell, Thomas Welsh, Dalton Dean, Travis Dean, Chris Francis, Roger Allen, and Lynn Crowell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Price was preceded in death by his father, James Ennis Price; step-father, Sam David Price; daughters, Angela Michelle Price and Veronica Lynn Price; granddaughter, Brittanie Leighanne Thomas; and great-granddaughter, Magnolia Leighanne Grace Dean. He is survived by his mother, Sarah Hilda Price; his wife of 40 years, Mona Lisa Price; son, Phillip Daniel (Jennifer) Harrell; daughters, Dolly Ann(Chris) Francis, Jessica Leigh Cox, and Lisa Marie (Travis) Dean; brothers, James Winston (Pauline) Price, David Brent Price, and Robert Earl (Donna) Price; sister, Brenda Katherine (Walter) Elliott; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mickey Price, the legend in his own mind, told the tallest of tales, recounting his many adventures and occasional escapades with the law. His well-lived years brought about wisdom and, most often, sound advice. He said, “Live one day at a time, and with a little bit of humor,” words that have never been truer for his family. He weathered the roads from coast to coast as one of the first truck drivers with Wiley Sanders; he was a superior craftsman of outdoor furniture and cedar chests; he always sought a good road-side deal; and he never missed the chance for a ride on his motorcycle. He lived the lyrics of his favorite classic rock songs; sometimes he would even sing, and most people would listen; and every fall, he shouted with the best of them, Roll Tide. He was a jack-of-all-trades. He was Dukes of Hazzard meets Bonnie and Clyde. He was fast and wild. He was fun and free. He was good and kind. He was loved. He is fondly remembered.

The family wishes to extend their many thanks to the staff of First Choice Hospice of Elba. Friends and family can sign the guestbook and order flowers online at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Price family.
