Michael "Mike" Allen

Michael “Mike” Theodore Allen, age 58, of Troy, Alabama, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with a personal tribute shared by his brother, Victor Allen. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Mike was born December 2, 1962, in the Mossy Grove Community of Pike County, Alabama, in the quaint surrounds of the heritage homeplace beloved as “Sister’s House,” the second of four Allen boys. He attended the Troy school system and was a graduate of Charles Henderson High School Class of 1980. Mike went off to charter new territories across the Southeast as a distinguished sales representative for a quality meats distributor based in Atlanta, Georgia. He served that position for more than 30 years before returning home to manage the family farm and land projects. Mike was an impassioned outdoorsman, always eager to explore the woods for wild game or take-in a quiet afternoon on a nearby bankside luring fish. He was a loyal friend with a generous spirit and gentle nature.

Mike is survived by his son, Aaron Allen (Sara); two grandchildren; father, Dr. William D. Allen; brothers, William E. Allen, Patrick Anthony Allen, and James Victor Allen; niece, Anna Allen; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Motes Allen.
