Merle Jernigan

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Ellis Bush officiating and Green Hills Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning at the funeral home for 30 minutes prior to the service.
A longtime resident of Troy, AL., Mrs. Jernigan was an avid gardener and loved to paint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jernigan, Jr. Mrs. Jernigan is survived by one daughter, Beth Jernigan and three nieces; Wiley White, Jacqueline Floyd and Mimi Sherrill as well as one nephew, Neal Brantley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to a favorite charity or to the Alabama Kidney Foundation at 441 High St., Montgomery, AL., 36104. Or, to the Alabama chapter of the amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease at P.O. Box 2888 Huntsville, AL., 35804.
