Mattie Thompson Murphy

Mattie Thompson Murphy of the Linwood community passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. Mattie, 79, was born February 8, 1944 in the Tennille community of Pike County.  Graveside services will be on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 2:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery. Please meet the family at the tent in the cemetery.
Mattie is survived by her three children, Susan Murphy Davis (Chuck), Joseph Wayne Murphy (Candace), and Walter Murry Murphy (Brooke); grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Grey Davis, James Wade Murphy, Caroline Murphy, Will Watson Murphy, Lane Murphy, Elizabeth Ann Murphy, and Marlee Tunstill.   Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Wayne Murphy; and parents, Murry L and Altha Tatum Thompson.  
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Montgomery Cancer Center, Enhabit Hospice, and the dear ladies who provided love and excellent care at home.
