Mary was the daughter of the late Dutch and Dot Parish, and was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lawrence Adams, and brother, Charlie Parish.
Mary is survived by her daughter Melissa (Chuck) Ingram, and two sons David (Whitney) Adams and Kevin (Aaron) Adams; ten grandchildren, Alex (Wesley) Woolard, Brian (Jayden) Adams, Austin (Lacey) Ingram, Georgia (fiancé, Jared Bennett) Adams, Parish Adams, Ansley Adams, Parker Adams, Dutch Adams, Rocky Adams, and Mary Lawrence Adams; two great grandsons Fred and Walker Woolard; her siblings John (Sue) Parish, Patricia (Johnny) Garrett and Shirley (Nick) Drosyk; her brother and sister in laws, Dowana Delbeke, Katie (Wendall) McWaters, Mike (Sheree) Golden, and Mark(Terri) Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary was born at home in Josie, Alabama, on June 17, 1949. She attended Union Springs High School and married Lawrence Adams in 1966. While raising their children, Lawrence and Mary owned the Banks Buy-Rite.  Later, Mary became a trusted partner in the Property Management business as well as serving as a realtor at David Adams Realty. Her two favorite hobbies were cooking for her family and watching her kids and grandkids enjoy their hobbies, in which she did not miss a single event. Every Saturday, she would cook for the entire extended family usually while watching their favorite Auburn Tigers and yelling WAR EAGLE!  She was known for her hamburger stew and her breakfasts for the family.  After years of traveling to their grandkid’s events, Lawrence and Mary enjoyed their own trips, such as their 50th Anniversary Cruise and the casino trips.

Mary’s impact on others was a reflection of God, love and family.   She was part of the family at Good Hope Baptist Church.  In Mary’s own words, success meant having a good home and family to share it with. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to our mother’s care giver for many years, Cynthia Thompkins, as well as several others such as Karen Williams, Alexis Hill, and Laurie Wood with Compassus Hospice.

The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Adams family.
