Louise Hester Stone

Louise Hester Stone, age 88, transitioned to Heaven on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at her granddaughter’s home in Goshen, Alabama.  A memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Ross Lankford officiating.  Visitation is one hour before the service.
Louise, just like her late husband Otis Stone, was an active member in her beloved community.  Ever since Otis & Lucy moved to Troy in 1978, they were active members at First Baptist Church of Troy and faithful members of her Sunday School class there.   Lucy was an avid gardener and enjoyed decorating and celebrating every holiday with Christmas at the top of her list!!  She was a true southern belle and held herself with the charm and grace that accompanies that title.  She never met a stranger and everywhere she went she would brighten the lives of those she met.  Lucy will be missed by all who knew her and her bright smile.
Loving survivors include her daughter, Wendy Stone; son, Mike Stone (Debbie); grandchildren, Hannah Lee, Jennifer Pukish (Mike), Ashley Stone (Alan Belcher), Alex Stone (Amanda), Chelsea Toglia (Andrew); 5 great grandchildren, as well as numerous family members and beloved friends.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Otis Milford Stone; her parents, Ruby & Norris Hester; her daughter, Lisa Marie Stone Bond; and her granddaughter, Katherine Ann Lee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Troy Public Library, the Salvation Army of Troy, or American Legion Post 70, of which Lucy was a lifelong member.  
The family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus of Troy and Dr. Eric Law for their exceptional care of the beloved matriarch of the family.
