Prattville

It is with profound respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Lee Grace Stephens, who departed this life on May 13, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on February 1, 1934, as Ora Lee Grace, Lee lived a life marked by love, devotion, and an enduring commitment to her family and community.

Lee devoted her life to serving others, both personally and professionally. Growing up in a large family, she learned early on how to make her presence known and leave a lasting impression. She created a beautiful life with her husband Albert, full of love and memories. As an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, and later as a full-time grandmother, she was a constant source of love, guidance, and support - always present for those who mattered most. Known for her feisty spirit - a trait that clearly runs in the family - Lee led and protected those she loved with both strength and grace. Her love language was quality time; nothing brought her greater joy or comfort than being surrounded by family and friends.

She will be remembered for her contagious smile, infectious laugh, and unmistakable fiery red hair. With a fashion sense all her own, Lee had a remarkable ability to make an entrance and leave a lasting impression wherever she went.

Lee was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Lee Stephens and beloved parents, Walter and Inez Grace. She was also reunited in rest with her siblings Bryant Grace, Olene Sanders, Florene Anderson, Mary Westlick, Johnny Grace, and Coley Grace, whose memories she cherished deeply. She leaves behind a loving family that stood as the center of her life’s joy. Her devoted son, Albert Lee Stephens Jr. and his wife Diana, were a constant source of support and comfort to her. The pride and love she had for her son, Al, was something truly special. Lee's legacy extends through her grandchildren: Albert Stephens, Ashlee Motyka (husband Matthew), and Alisha French—all of whom enriched her days with their love and laughter. She was the proud great-grandmother to Abigail Motyka, Audrey Motyka, Stephen Motyka, and Adam French, each a beacon of the bright future she held dear. Her life was also enriched by the companionship and support of her sisters, Linda Fulmer (husband Jim), and Jackie Pridemore (husband Bobby), who shared a bond that time only deepened.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Green Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. This will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM where family, friends, and all those touched by Lee’s gentle spirit are invited to pay their respects and celebrate her remarkable life.

Lee Grace Stephens will be remembered not only for her enduring kindness, strength, and strong will but for the warmth she extended to all who knew her. Her legacy is carried forward by those she loved and nurtured - a testament to a life well-lived and a love deeply felt.  The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stephens family.
