Judy Davis

Judy Ann Spruill Davis passed away at her home on Saturday, June 11, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 18, 1946, in Alexandria, Louisiana.  A graveside service will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Green Hills Cemetery with visitation one hour prior at Green Hills Funeral Home.   Rev. Jim Powell officiating.  Pallbearers are Wayne Davis, Paul Davis, Hunter Motes, Halston Motes, Scott Dunn, and Dave Sikes.  Honorary pallbearers are Bo Pritchett, Biddy Starks, Man Pritchett and Doug Mashke.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jack F. Davis, Sr., and her son, Jeffrey D. Davis.  Loving survivors include her son, Jack F. "Cracker Jack" Davis, Jr.; grandson, Jack F. "Trey" Davis, III; step grandsons, Hunter Motes (Amanda), Halston Motes, all of Troy; her brother, W. D. Spruill (Patricia) of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Roy R. Davis (Sandi) of Slocomb; sisters-in-law, Sarah D. Allen, Judy D. Chancey, Alice D. Williford, Willo Jean Davis, Winnie Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews, and a special nephew whom she and Jack thought of as a third son, Robert E. "Rob" Chancey, III.  She was also survived by her very dear friends, Sesha & Scott Dunn and Marna & Dick Barnett; as well as her special caregivers, Benny "Bo" Pritchett, Myrtle "PeeWee" Pritchett, LaSonja Croswell, Annie Siler, and Diane Williams.

Judy shared her love with Jack, Sr. for the American Quarter Horse, especially the Harland blood line.  Together they bred, raised, and showed quarter horses for 50 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pike County Cattlemen's Association (PO Box 1308, Troy 36081) or to Murphy's Chapel Methodist Church c/o Brenda Peacock (2032 Co Rd 7735, Troy 36081).  The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davis family.
