Joe Hilliard Livingston

Joe Hilliard Livingston, a devoted son, brother, and friend, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on January 6, 1953, Joe lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. A graveside service will be held to honor Joe’s life on October 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Ebenezer Cemetery, located in Troy, Alabama.

His personality shone brightly throughout his life; he was known for being friendly and always helpful to everyone around him. Joe had a deep love for gardening, dedicating much of his time to cultivating a variety of plants and vegetables. Regardless of the heat, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of tending to his garden, and his generosity was evident as he often shared the fruits of his labor, giving away all of his produce to friends and neighbors.

Joe was also a devoted caregiver to his mother, Lauree Livingston. His role as her caregiver was a source of great pride for him, and he remained steadfast in this commitment until the very end. Those close to him would often hear him say, “take care of mama,” a testament to the profound bond he shared with her. He also found joy in the companionship of his cats, who were a cherished part of his life. Joe’s gentle spirit and loving nature left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Joe is survived by his mother, Lauree Livingston; his brother, Larry Livingston; sister-in-law, Kim; his great niece, Mileigh Long; and several special cousins.  He joins in eternal rest his father, Joseph Livingston, and his niece, Christy Livingston Long, who preceded him in death.
