It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Ming, who left us on October 30, 2025, at the age of 48. Jerry was born on February 7, 1977, and his life was a testament to kindness and generosity, qualities that he embodied every day. As a shining beacon in the lives of those around him, he was not just a friend but a genuine helper who always extended a hand to those in need.
In celebration of Jerry's remarkable life, a visitation will be held at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy, Alabama, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Rev Jeffrey Parrish officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery in Banks, Alabama, with Paul Hutchinson, David Taylor, Jack Caradine, Kevin Peoples, Josh Sikes, Kris Sharp, Wes McKinney, and Steve Garrett serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Sanders Lead Furnace and all of his cousins.
Jerry was known for his infectious spirit and charm; he was the life of the party, a man who never met a stranger. His jovial nature made everyone feel welcome and loved. Friends and family alike will cherish memories of his laughter, his warmth, and his unwavering support. He had a knack for bringing people together, and his generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
In his spare time, Jerry loved to indulge in his passions—playing golf and hunting. These hobbies brought him peace and joy, allowing him to connect with nature and loved ones in beautiful ways. Also known as a skilled handyman, Jerry infused each day with purpose, often seen repairing things for others and lending his talents to all.
Jerry leaves behind his beloved mother, Shirley Drosyk, and her husband, Nick; his brother, Jason Ming, and sister-in-law, Dawn; his son, Nevin Kafer; and his niece, Haleigh Ming, as well as his nephew, Zach Howze. The family also includes several cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Ming, and his beloved grandparents, Dot and Dutch Parish, Ben Ming, and Alva Renfroe.
Jerry Wayne Ming may have departed from this world, but his spirit will undoubtedly continue to touch those he loved and who loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the fortune of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Hills Funeral Home, Jerry Ming Memorial Fund. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ming family during this time.
