Jennifer Nelson Menefee

Jennifer Nelson Menefee, loving daughter, sister, and mother, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 34.  Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00am at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Richard Henderson officiating.  Visitation is Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.  Pallbearers are Chance Kelley, Josh Chancey, Brent Kohn, Austin Missildine, Cooper Nichols, and Jud Gardner.  

Jennifer was the kind of woman who understood that the little everyday moments with those you love are truly what make life meaningful. Jennifer was proud to follow in her grandmother Judy Chancey’s footsteps, making a career as well as a difference in the lives of others at Troy Bank & Trust where she had served as a Universal Banker II for the past 11 years. Whether she was working at the bank, enjoying back porch sittin’ & good music with family & friends, greeting folks at the Tin Top Café on her days off, or going on road trip adventures with her daughter & best friend Bayleigh, Jennifer’s love for people & her servant heart was evident in all she did. 

Jenn (as many of her friends called her) was witty and she knew it. Just like she knew that there was no one that could make a better tastin’ poundcake than yours truly- because like any true southern woman she wasn’t sharin’ that “exact” recipe. She will be greatly missed. 

Loving survivors include her beloved daughter, Bayleigh Wooten; mother, Donna Chancey; twin brother, Jeffrey Nelson (Ashley); brother, Jackson Nelson; niece, Madison Nelson; nephew, Evan Nelson; grandmothers, Judy Chancey, Martha Broadway; and father, Donovan Nelson; as well as several other family members.  She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Chase Nelson; grandfather, Robert Chancey; and uncle, Ken Kelley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the trust account of her daughter, Bayleigh Wooten, at Troy Bank and Trust, 1000 Highway 231 S, Troy, AL 36081.
