Mrs. Jeanette Beard Whaley of Troy, AL., passed away June 28, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL., after a brief illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Whaley will be at 3 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2013 at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Rick Hayes and Rev. Clifford Matthews officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home two hours prior to the service and burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Whaley was born April 25, 1925 to Robert Oscar and Jessie Ross Folmar Beard of Goshen, AL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Ella B. Johnson, Millie B. Galloway and her brothers Raymond and Bobby Beard.
Mrs. Whaley is survived by her husband of 71 years, Edward R. Whaley; one son, Robert L. Whaley (Mary); one daughter, Janet W. Campbell (Gene); two granddaughters, Melissa W. Boatner (Ty) and Marsha W. Meeks (Wesley); one grandson, Jason M. Campbell (Cate); four great-grandchildren, Colton and Kristen Meeks and Ava and Max Campbell; one sister, Bernice Floyd; two sisters-in-law, Lundie W. Riddle and Verdi W. Black as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donation may be made to the Pike County Relay For Life/American Cancer Society at 104 Kaye Lane, Troy, AL., 36079 or to Hospice Advantage at 199 U.S. Hwy 231, Troy, AL., 36081.
