James “Ronny” Pinckard, age 53, passed away Friday, September 21, 2012, in Montgomery, AL.
Graveside services for Mr. Pinckard will be at 4 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Elizabeth O’Neil officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m., until 4 p.m., at Green Hills Funeral Home. Green Hills Funeral Home is directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Immanuel Presbyterian Church at 8790 Vaughn Road Montgomery, AL 36117.
Mr. Pinckard graduated Magna Cum Laude from Troy University and was the recipient of the prestigious Rotary International Scholarship that provided for him to continue his studies in Canada. While at Troy, he founded the SAE Fraternity.
Prior to college, Mr. Pinckard was a strong member of the Charles Henderson High School Debate Team. He was also a member of the Troy Rotary Club, Immanuel Presbyterian Church and served as an adjunct professor at Troy University and Huntington College. Mr. Pinckard also served as an aid to Congressman Bill Dickinson in Washington.
He is survived by his mother, Zabra Pinckard; two children, Stewart and Eady Pinckard; one brother, Curt Pinckard and one sister, Stella Howell.
Pallbearers for the service will be Bill Owens, Richard Botts, Tony Hickman, Steve Trawick, Kevin Howell and Alan Sullivan.
