James Comer Houston died on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was born on October 14, 1930 in Troy, AL. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He graduated from Troy State Teachers College and received his BA in business administration. After 40 years of employment with Associates Commercial Corp. he retired as District Manager. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Clinton, MS.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Steve Winton officiating . Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home.
He was preceded by death by his son, James D. (Jim) Houston; parents, Comer Houston and Emma Lou Renfroe. He is survived by his wife, Ruth L Houston; half-brother, Jerry Renfroe and half-sister, Jean Bentley of Montgomery, AL; three nieces, Sharon Lott (Calvin), Becky Davis (Herby) of Troy, AL, Tamra Honaker (Steve) of Fitzpatrick, AL; one nephew, Shane Law (Monica) of Abbeville, AL; daughter, Debbie Horn (James) of Clinton, MS.
Serving as pallbearers will be ; Bud Reid, "Bo-Bo" James Horn, Anthony Horn, Herby Davis, Steve Honaker, Calvin Lott, Shane Law and Dake Davis.
