James Jackson Clements, affectionately known as "Buck," passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on October 3, 1947, Buck lived a life filled with warmth, humor, and an unwavering dedication to his family and craft.
A skilled tradesman, Buck excelled in welding, trucking, and machining, always finding joy in tinkering with trucks and engaging in mechanic work. His hands were not only tools for labor but a means to express his creativity and passion for all things mechanical.
Buck's love for his family was unwavering. He held a special place in his heart for his niece, Christy, and her friend, Klisha "Noonie." The connection he shared with them was a testament to his nurturing spirit, often taking the time to create cherished memories that would last a lifetime. In addition to his professional life and familial bonds, Buck found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing and watching wrestling on television.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Glenda Clements, his sister Sarah McKinney (John), along with several nieces and nephews who will carry forward the legacy of love and kindness that Buck exemplified throughout his life. Buck was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Helen Drouin, Katherine Butler, Shirley Geck; and his brother, Elmer Walker and infant brother, Jamie.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Buck's life. A visitation will be held on December 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm. Both services will take place at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
Buck will be remembered not only for his expertise in his trades but, more importantly, for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends who cherished every moment spent in his company.
