JaCorey Donte Gaddis

JaCorey Donte Gaddis, loving son and brother, passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 32. A Memorial Service with military honors will be at 12:00noon on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy, Alabama.

Born on October 22, 1993, in Texas, JaCorey was the first of four children. His life was marked by faith, learning, service, and determination, and he will be remembered with deep love and respect. JaCorey graduated from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and later continued his education in Los Angeles, California, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in musical arts and business administration. His commitment to growth and his willingness to follow his ambitions reflected a spirit that looked ahead with purpose.

JaCorey also served his country with honor, completing a four-year Active-Duty Navy tour. That service stood as an important chapter in his life and reflected his discipline, courage, and dedication. Among the accomplishments that meant the most to him were accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young adult and joining New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. His faith became a meaningful part of his life and journey.

His life and memory is cherished by his father, Donald Morrison Jr. (Myrna) of Santa Clarita, California; mother, Penny Gaddis Leonard (James) of Troy, Alabama; brother, Matthew D. John (Patrisiya); nephew, Emmanuel John; niece, Amina John of Lexington, Kentucky; brother, Samuel A. John of Troy, Alabama; sister, Tiara J. John of Atlanta, Georgia; paternal grandparents Donald Morrison Sr. and Evon Morrison of Sanford, North Carolina; and was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Huvern Tuck and Maggie Gaddis of Alexander City, Alabama.

JaCorey Donte Gaddis will be remembered for the path he forged, the goals he pursued, and the life he lived with conviction. His memory will remain cherished by all who knew and loved him. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gaddis family.
