Union Springs

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, the family of Jacob Morgan Faulkner announces his passing on July 3, 2026. Morgan Faulkner, who left us far too soon at the age of 34, was born on March 11th, 1992. He lived a life defined by unwavering devotion to his family, a strong work ethic, and a joyful appreciation of life’s simple pleasures. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Alabama Cattlemen's Complex in Troy with visitation beginning at 10:00am.  Burial will follow the service at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, County Rd 15, Union Springs.

Morgan’s love for his family was at the very core of who he was. He is survived by his wife, Megan Faulkner, with whom he shared a life full of laughter, partnership, and enduring love, and their daughter, Olivia “Livy” Faulkner. Livy was Morgan’s brightest light, and his eyes always shined when he spoke of her. A love that strong does not diminish, and his spirit will continue to shine through her. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Dana Renfroe Faulkner, ever supportive and proud; his brother and lifelong friend, Trey Faulkner (Kara); his half-brother, Turner Faulkner (Courtney); his nephews Jake, Waylon, and John Turner Faulkner; and a large community of family and friends.

Morgan was preceded in death by his father, James “Jimbo” Walter Faulkner; his paternal grandparents, James “Shorty” and Elizabeth “Libba” Faulkner; and his maternal grandparents, Billy “Pappy” and Peggy “Mimi” Renfroe. While we say goodbye to Morgan, we remember the loved ones who went before him and know his passing is a bittersweet reunion.

Morgan was a man shaped by his many passions. He was a gifted team roper, an avid horseman, and an overall lover of the outdoors. He was always content in nature whether it was riding a good horse on a pretty day, trudging through brush and briars on a hunt, or casting a line into a calm pond. His ability to appreciate and enjoy what the land offered was among his finest qualities, and he eagerly chose to share this gift with those he loved.

Morgan was a modern day John Wayne. Everyone who knew him knew his warmth, generosity, and his readiness to work for what mattered. He never hesitated to get the job done and approached every task – big or small – with a determination to see it through. His work ethic was matched only by his ability to liven any gathering, and he played as hard as he worked. He was a natural talent for having a good time and bringing people together. With a sweet tooth for the desert table and a nose for fellowship, a party was never complete without Morgan.

In the short time Morgan had, he touched everyone he met deeply. He was an all-in person. Everything he did contained all of him. His laughter was contagious, his care was consistent, his loyalty was unwavering, and his love was unending. Morgan was larger than life, and everything he gave in life, still remains – in the things he loved and the people he loved. As the family and friends prepare to honor him, they ask all who grieve for Morgan to reflect on who he was and what he valued. The legacy of Jacob Morgan Faulkner is one of love, devotion, work, joy, and true grit, and his legacy will live on in his wife, his daughter, and all who called him a friend.
