Clara Manell Langford, age 85 of Troy, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her residence. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery in Rosehill. Visitation will be Friday, October 25, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Mrs. Langford was born and raised in Covington County. She moved to Pike County in 1964. She attended Troy University where she received her Masters and Auburn University for her PHD. She was married for sixty five years to her husband, Murray Langford. She was an avid worldwide traveler, a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy and retired as Director of Federal Programs for Pike County Board of Education.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Elizabeth Langford and brother, Charles Radford. She is survived by her husband, Murray Langford; sons, David Langford and Mark Langford (Jeanie); daughter, Melinda Luker (Charles); sister, Patsy Rathel (Dwight); grandchildren, Greg Langford, Chase Luker, Amanda Luker, Abby Luker, Jordan Langford and Claire Langford; great grandchildren, Jackson Langford and William Langford.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Hughes, Ty Hughes, Drexel Wayne Hughes, Charles Luker, Terry Wayne Hughes and Chad Hughes.
