Charles T. Barnette

August 13, 1937 — April 24, 2014

Charles T. Barnette, age 76 of Ansley, AL., died Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Brookwood Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating.  Graveside services will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Green Hills Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Barnette was born on August 13, 1937 and was raised in Henderson, Alabama.  He graduated from Goshen High School in 1956.  He was employed at Wiley Sanders Truck Lines for many years and was also a veteran of the United States Army.  He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Azbury and Elsie Inez Stallings Barnette and four brothers, Harold Barnette, James Barnette, Jerry Barnette and Jim Barnette. He is survived by his wife, Sue Barnette; one son Greg Barnette (Terri); one daughter, Sonya Steele; sister, Jo Anne Henderson (Calvin deceased); sister-in-law, Carolyn Barnette; nine grandchildren, Jordan Cox (Paul), Alex Hurst (T.R.), Gregory Barnette, Brandon Barnette, Ashley Steele, John Paul Steele, Jr., Tony Gillo (Haley), Ashley Gillo, Jeffery Parker; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gregory Barnette, Brandon Barnette, John Paul Steele, Jr., Tony Gillo, Jeffery Parker, Paul Cox and T.R. Hurst.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Goshen High School Class of 1956.
