Charles Wesley Owens, of the Goshen community, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. A memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Free Will Baptist Church in Luverne, Alabama.
Mr. Owens grew up around the Red Level community and attended Brantley High School. He went on to work for the Pepsi Company in Luverne for a few years. Most of his life was spent doing construction work around the southeast corner of Alabama. He loved to fish and one could always find him in the garden every summer growing the finest vegetables around. Charles Wesley Owens even played Santa Claus for several years at Goshen Elementary and Lockheed- Martin Christmas parties. He loved children, especially his own grandchildren! He will be missed by all who knew him.
Loving survivors include his wife of 44 years, Kathy Owens; children, Meghan Kennedy (Timothy), Bobby R. Owens (Jennifer); grandchildren, Brooke Boudreaux (Drew), Conner Owens, Adalynn Kennedy, Allison Kennedy, Wyatt Kennedy; great grandchildren, Lottie Boudreaux, Baby Boudreaux; brothers, Glen Padgett (Mavis), Tommy Kervin (Bev), Jack Kervin (Brenda); his sister, Vonciel Kervin (Howard); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Wesley Owens; his mother, Vada Kervin; and a brother, Ollie Joe Owens.
The family would like to thank Dr. Vikas Gupta and his staff, and Compassus Hospice, especially Laurie and Leigh Ann for their care and service.
