Billy Gene Harp

Billy Gene Harp, beloved husband and father, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Green Hills Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30pm.  Rev. Wayne Locklar and Rev. Kerry Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with Barry Harp, Brandon Harp, Devin Miller, Chip Williford, Mitch Green, and Richie Rhodes serving as pallbearers.
With a hug always ready, Bill loved life and never met a stranger.  He was friendly, quick-witted, and could make almost anyone laugh! One could find him at the closest fishing hole or watching a western or cheering Roll Tide! In his younger years, drag racing was a favorite or doing some wood working out in the shop.  As a retired Army officer, he spent his life serving our country for over 34 years.  After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Faye.  He loved his grandchildren as well as his church family and was always ready for a good time!  Bill was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Willie C. Harp and Eunice Branton Harp.  Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Faye W. Harp; children, Barry Harp (Celeste), Brandon Harp, Katie Miller (Devin); grandchildren, Lauren Grace Harp, Whitt Harp, Hannah Kate Harp, Finley Marie Miller, Henley Catherine Harp, Lucy Kate Miller; siblings, Debbie Stephens (Stan), Jerry "Skeet" Harp (Joann), and Kathy Blair; as well as several nieces and nephews.
