Billy Spear Floyd, a life-long resident of Troy, AL, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, following an extended illness. He was 73. A graveside service conducted by Pastor George Merritt, honoring the life of Mr. Floyd, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends at Green Hills Funeral Home on Friday, December 18, 2009, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Floyd was the son of the late Pugh and Daisy Mae Floyd and brothers Buck and Jerry Floyd. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Eunice Lee Sanders Floyd; daughter, Terry Sonya Floyd Henry (Brian); mother-in-law, Duva Wilson Carter; two sister-in-laws, Shellie Sue Sanders Adams (Ben) of Pace, FL and Nellyne Sanders Weston (Bill) of Ramer, AL; and one step brother-in-law, Richard C. Carter (Karen) of Birmingham, AL and; several nieces and nephews.
