With heavy hearts and deep respect, we reflect upon the life of Betty Joyce Eades, who passed away after a short illness on August 19, 2026. Betty was born on May 20, 1941, and over her eighty-five years, she touched the lives of many with her warmth, spirit, and love.
A longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, Betty carried a profound love for her home state and its vibrant culture. Her affection for Texas was matched only by her passion for travel, a joy she shared throughout her life alongside her husband, who served in the United States Air Force. Together, they embraced new places and experiences, bringing back cherished memories and stories.
Betty was a remarkable woman known for her supportive and loving nature. As a wife and sister, she gave encouragement and kindness freely to those around her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—especially cooking for friends and loved ones, a talent that brought people together and created lasting bonds. Betty's fondness for the beach and adventure spoke to her appreciation for beauty in the world and her joyful embrace of new journeys.
Betty leaves behind her devoted husband of 61 years, Bob Eades; her brother, Bob Whitson; brother-in-law, Ronny Eades; sister-in-law, Pat Payne; niece, Angie King, Ginny Carter (Bryant) ; nephew, Josh Whitson; (Lori). Each remains a testament to the loving family Betty cherished and supported throughout her days.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Whitson; her mother, Lois Whitson; and her beloved brother, Ed Whitson. Their memories are held close in the hearts of those who loved Betty, and their legacy endures through the generations.
