Annie Booker

April 25, 1929 — March 27, 2015

Annie M. Williford Booker, age 85, a lifelong resident of Pike County, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. David Stewart and Terry McCollum officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Murphy’s Chapel United Methodist Church Sunday School class will serve as honorary pallbearers.  Mrs. Booker is fondly remembered for her boisterous spirit and youthful charisma that brought all her endeavors and encounters to a bright, fulfilled life.  Mrs. Booker continued to grow in her faith as a loyal member of Murphy’s Chapel United Methodist Church and participant in the UMW Group. She dedicated 25 years working as a secretary for AT & T in Montgomery. She found great pleasure and reward in tending her garden, baiting a fishing hook, and she cherished family time around the dinner table with a homemade meal ̶ always cooked with love and dressed with an extra special “Granny” affection for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Booker was preceded in death by her parents, Guy R. and Essie M. Williford; and sister, Mary Williford Bowles. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, E.C. Booker; sons, Ronald R. Booker (Pattie B.) and Bruce A. Booker (Joette L.); daughter, Jennifer B. Moody (Randy); grandchildren, Mallory Cortez, Tyler Booker, Ashton M. Booker (Corinne), Ashton L. Bradshaw, Sarah Faith Cornette (Chris), and Robert Paul Moody; great-grandchildren, Mason Booker, Ty Henry Booker, Lottie Lewis, Cayden Lewis, Bailynn Burch, Christian Patrick Cornette, II, Luke David Cornette, and Avari Elise Cornette; and sister, Imogene Hicks (Ben).  In addition to flowers, any memorials may be made in her honor to Murphy’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Family and friends can sign the guest book and order flowers at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Booker family.
