"Jim" James Herbert "Jabo" Stinson, age 65 of Troy died Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home. Jim was a kind, selfless friend to everyone. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the outdoors spending his free time fishing and playing golf. He was known for his humor and kindness and was always helping out others. He was a member of the 1659th Transportation unit and served in the Gulf War.
Funeral services for Jim Stinson will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2019 in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Mark Stephens officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Brian McLendon officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
His survivors include; his wife, Kaye W. Stinson; son, Lee (Hannah) Hussey; grandsons, Tyler and Bryant Hussey; sister, Martha Freeman Jones (Billy) and his brother, Mike Stinson; aunt, Louise Henderson and many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy Whitehead, Pam Coots, Faye Harp (Bill), Sherry Wood, Linda "Poochie" Green, Sandra Walker (Bucky), Henry "Fatso" Williford (Diane). He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Verna and Florette Davis Stinson, brothers-in-law, George Williford, Dugan Williford and Charlie Williford, sister-in-laws, Darcus Ann Sport, Nell Stinson and his inlaws, Horace E. and Sallie Williford.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mitch Green, Brent Barley, Dan Freeman, Richie Rhodes, Pete Betzold and Devin Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be the 1659th Movement Control Team , Gary Burdick, Mike Stinson, Henry "Fatso" Williford, Bill Harp, Bucky Walker, Terry Sport, Bill Henderson, Wade Henderson, Kurt Henderson, Donald Lee, Bart Sanders, Ricky Brewer , Charles "Chuck" Meredith , L.B. Pevehouse, Mike Stephens, Ken Botts, Terry Gardner, Lee Gardner and the Sanders Lead Company Family .
