Richard Michael "Mike" Wood age 73, of Honoraville, died Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Montgomery. Mike was a 1962 graduate of Goshen High School. After high school he joined the United States Navy and served 4 years and was assigned to the USS Ashland. He then became a fireman for the City of Montgomery. When not working Mike could be found pursuing his love of hunting both doves and quail
A funeral service for Mike Wood will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Locklar officiating. Green Hills Funeral Home's carriage will take Mike to his gravesite in Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery where military honors will take place. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include; companion and wife of 40 years, Belinda Jordan Wood of Honoraville, daughter, Charlene Dionn Wood of Ohio, son, Micheal Lamar Wood of Macon, Ga., step-children, Dawn Michelle Bracknell of Panama City, Derell Dewayne Jordan of Honoraville, 8 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren, brother, Jerry Thompson (Jackie) Wood of Edmond, OK., sister, Joan Wood (Ben) Beard of Troy, Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James Lamar and Elise Thompson Wood.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
